A well-established community arts charity based in Belper, Amber Valley in Derbyshire, since 1983. We work with a wide variety of groups and partners across the region, delivering quality, diverse, arts workshops, projects, events and support, particularly with those at risk of social exclusion.

Working with ‘Grow Outside CIC’ we have delivered 5 x outdoor creative wellbeing sessions for Carers/Volunteers in an allotment in Ripley.  This pilot project will culminate this week in a celebration on National Apple Day with apple-themed creative wellbeing activities.

Participants: Ukrainian refugee families

We are delivering a programme of art workshops for Ukrainian refugee families as part of the ‘Hope 4 Belper’ gatherings in Belper Baptist Church.Â
They will also make some decorations to adorn the Memorial gardens during the Christmas Lights events.
We also worked with Belper Ukrainian Refugee Group (BURG) to support the Summer Play scheme.Â
Puppet workshops for younger children culminating in a mini show for parents and music workshops for older children.

Dance workshops with Ripley LGBT+ youth club were done by Surtal Arts in September/October. Also, an online dance tutorial for
post-workshop practice and social media public engagement.
We then hosted a flashmob at the Farmers Market in October. Â

We have now delivered all of our sessions with NHS staff in Derby Hospitals’ for creative wellbeing.
We have delivered Collage and Felting workshops over the Summer/Autumn months.
Some of the work produced will be exhibited in The Museum Of Making in January, along with a piece made by each artist inspired by the Museum collection.
