Fleet Arts is a community arts charity working in partnership with local groups and agencies to develop and deliver visual arts and music projects.  Our aim is to offer high-quality accessible creative arts experiences and many of our projects work with people who are disadvantaged in some way.

For over 25 years, Fleet Arts has developed and managed projects from our base in Belper, Derbyshire. We  offer spaces for a range of community uses, a music rehearsal room and portable stage lighting.

We have worked extensively with local groups and agencies throughout Derbyshire and Derby City delivering innovative, challenging and exciting projects.  Fleet Arts is committed to accessible  participation in the creative arts.

Our projects include:

  • Turn it Up – a music development project which for over 10 years has worked with young people to support them in gaining experience of music including in rock, folk and culturally diverse genres. Focused on gaining skills, creating original music and performance.
  • Derwent Valley World Heritage Site Arts Projects – linking heritage with arts, including the ‘Threads’ mill-workers memories project and the ‘Mills and Chimneys’ folk music project.
  • Workshops – in a range of art-forms including crafts and music in partnership with self-help and support groups and organisations with children and adults.
