This was a very joy filled session and great fun. There was a lot of laughter, and two children really focused intently on their self-portraits. Drawing each other without looking brought about many giggles. We also played ‘consequences’ which made them laugh
The children loved it, and one boy said he wanted to stay blowing bubbles until nighttime!
There’s continued to be lovely conversations about the way nature brings connections with your own childhood, certain plants trigger thoughts and memories etc. We’ve talked lots about things like pressing flowers when we were children or going blackberry picking etc
Responding to the seasons throughout all the parts of the project has felt so important, there’s been lots of conversations around the little seasonal changes each week – as well as ideas circulating about things we could do at completely different times of the year. Being outside really ignites creative ideas in a way that doesn’t happen inside
The setting is wonderful and watching the community garden change with the seasons is so lovely, each week the gardens offers new inspiration. It’s beautiful there all year round, there’s been so much beautiful and calming detail in the plants and wildlife each week, it’s incredibly soothing
