A New Direction for Fleet Arts

Fleet Arts is changing. This spring, under a new Arts Director, the organisation is moving in a new direction led by Jane Hardstaff. An artist, curator and community arts project leader, Jane worked at Derby Museums for 10 years, and is founder and co-director of  Common Threads arts and health organisation.

Fleet Arts will still be doing all the great things we have done for many years  – children’s  arts workshops, creative projects, music projects, hosting community activities – but we will be developing to become more representative of the creative momentum in the area. We are planning to refresh the building, create a new image and develop into an arts centre – a gallery space with workshops, artists’ studios, classes, courses and events.

We want to become a creative centre for the area. We’ll focus on visual arts, participatory arts, music, health and well-being. To do this, we are working collaboratively with artists, makers organisations and communities in the area.

If you would be interested in getting involved with Fleet Arts, as a volunteer, a Management Committee member, or to share your ideas about what you’d like to see happening at Fleets Arts., email janehardstaff@fleet-arts.org

We’d love to hear from you.
